K-Ring
- Platform: Commodore 64/128
- Release Date: 1987
Game Description
As a fixed-screen shooter, K-Ring places you in control of a glowing orb that fires lasers forwards and backwards. Those lasers are put to use against various alien spacecraft that have one mission: to smash the orb into little pieces. You can maneuver the orb-like spacecraft from the bottom to the middle portion of the screen. Enemies will attack in waves, moving all over the place. At times, the aliens will leave the screen and come back in from behind the orb. Because the circular craft can fire in both directions, you will need to pay close attention to the enemies in front and back of you.
While some alien spacecraft do nothing more but hover around the screen, others fire missiles. In addition to moving all over the place, you'll have to be on the lookout for opposing firepower. Whenever the aliens' missile connects with the orb or a kamikaze spacecraft touches it, you'll lose a life. Points are awarded based on the number of alien spacecraft you've destroyed.
After clearing all enemies from a level, you'll progress to the next wave of attackers. K-Ring also features customizable controls and comes with various difficulty settings for novice and expert players. ~ Matthew House, All Game Guide
