Kaisō (海草郡 Kaisō-gun?) is a district located in Wakayama, Japan. As of September 1, 2008, the district has an estimated Population of 10,988 and a Density of 85.6 persons/km². The total area is 128.31 km².

Mergers

  • On April 1, 2005 the town of Shimotsu merged into the city of Kainan.
  • On January 1, 2006 the towns of Misato and Nokami merged to form the new town of Kimino.
