The Kalamazoo Transportation Center is an intermodal complex
located in downtown Kalamazoo, Michigan. Amtrak and
Greyhound provide regular service there. [1] The center is also the major downtown transfer hub for Kalamazoo Metro Transit's bus system.
Baggage on Amtrak cannot be checked at this location; however, up to two suitcases in addition to any "personal items" such as briefcases, purses, laptop bags, and infant equipment are allowed on board as carry-ons.
The Kalamazoo Train Station was built in 1887, and has been on the National Register of Historic Places since July 11, 1975.[2] Before reconstruction it also serviced Greyhound and Indian Trails bus lines. The actual project was a collaboration between local, state, and federal authorities, with the Department of Transportation awarding a $3.8 million grant.[3]
Air transportation to and from Kalamazoo is not provided at the Kalamazoo Transportation Center, but at the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport
