Kampgrounds of America (KOA) won't win any spelling bees, but that doesn't stop this kompany from running the largest network of kommercial kampsites in North America. There are more than 450 KOA campgrounds across the US and Canada; many of the campgrounds are franchised operations. The campgrounds feature RV hookups, showers, laundry facilities, swimming pools, restrooms, playgrounds, and Internet access. KOA was founded in 1962 by a group of Billings, Montana, businessmen looking to cash in on campers' need for campsites on their way to the Seattle World's Fair.
