Karl Egon von Ebert

Ebert, Karl Egon von (Prague, 1801-82, Prague), spent most of his life as an administrator with the princely house of Fürstenberg writing poetry in his leisure hours. His poems (Gedichte) appeared in 1824, and were augmented in 1828 and 1845. He also published verse epics and romances, including Vlasta (1829), the idyll Das Kloster (1833), and Eine Magyarenfrau (1865). In his early life a passionate and reciprocated love for a princess ended in separation and renunciation.
