Karl Perfall

Perfall, Karl, Freiherr von (Munich, 1824-1907, Munich), a gifted musician, became director of the Royal Conservatoire and Intendant of the Hoftheater in Munich in 1867. His operas include Sakuntala. He wrote books of theatrical history (Fünfundzwanzig Jahre Münchner Hoftheater-Geschichte, 1892; Die Entwicklung des modernen Theaters, 1899). His nephews A. and K. T. von Perfall were novelists.
