Biography

Finnish vocalist Katri Ylander was a finalist -- the runner-up, in fact -- on Idols Finland 2 and performed a wide stylistic range of songs throughout the contest, including Diana Ross' "Do You Know Where You're Going To?," Baccara's "Yes Sir I Can Boogie," Europe's "The Final Countdown," and Avril Lavigne's "I'm with You." Her versions of Irina's "Kuurupiiloa" and Stella's "Piste" appeared on the Idols: Finalistit 2005 compilation. A year later, she released her self-titled debut through Sony BMG. One of the album's singles, "Onko Vielä Aikaa?," went to number one on the Finnish Radio Top 20 chart. ~ Andy Kellman, All Music Guide
