Biography

As a member of the duo Bang the Party, Lesley Lawrence was part of the first wave of British house in the late '80s. After separating from his Bang the Party partner Kid Bachelor, he became the first British artist signed to the legendary Detroit label Transmat and released the first single on the Plink Plonk label under the name Bullet. After other collaboration work with Robert Owens and the Woodentops, Lawrence formed KCL Project and issued the single "Cititalk" in 1995 on Octopus Records (U.K.). His debut album appeared soon after, followed by 1997's Many Rivers to Cross. ~ John Bush, All Music Guide
