The name Kedar is a common hindu name which represents god shiva and the hindu priest who was very sacred. in hindu religion it is believed that if you pronounce the word KEDAR for hundred times than all yours sins are forgiven.

KedarNath is one of the name of Loard Shiva. Kedar is a Sanskrit word,which means "Ash".Nath is "Owner". So KedarNath (one Jyotirlinga) means "Loard of Ashes".Ash can be meant simply, "nothing".

The Divine Ash produced after burning the dead body of Hindu person,is awarded to loard Shiva (Shiva Lingaa).Who bears it on his body.Traditionally,It Means that Soul of Human has melt into Infinite Divinity.

Philosophically it means,every creation of GOD wheather it is Alive or Dead,wheather it is some Rich person or Poor Person or Even an animal, ultimately meets same end.That is Ash,Nothing.

-Sanskrit,Hindi are having same root,language called Devnagri.

-As per Hindu belief,Loard Shiva is a god who deals with Human's life after Death.(!!)As per Hindu belief,Loard Shiva lives in Smashan-Hindu Graveyard/Cemetery.

-Smashan-Hindu Graveyard/Cemetery:As per Hindu Tradition,they use to burn the bodies in Holy fire after death(Agni-Daah).Which produces Ash.That ash is mixed up into holy sea/river or Land.(Scientifically,it improves fertility of Land).
