Wikipedia: Kerala Sahithya Academy

Kerala Sahitya Academy or Academy for Malayalam literature is an autonomous body which was established to promote Malayalam language and literary heritage and situated in Thrissur. It was inaugurated on October 15, 1956, by Chithira Thirunal Balarama Varma, the former king of Travancore. Though the Kerala government provides the funding and support for the Academy, the administration of the Academy is designed to be autonomous by its constitution. The Academy recognizes superior literary works every year through its literary awards.

The Academy is now headed by Malayalam Novalist M. Mukundan as President and Writer Purushan Kadalundy as Secretary.
