KeyBank (NYSEKEY) is a bank headquartered in the Key Tower in Cleveland, Ohio. As of 2006, it is the 12th largest bank in the United States based on total deposits.[1]

KeyBank is owned by KeyCorp (NYSEKEY) which was formed in 1994 through the merger of Society Corp. of Cleveland ("Society Bank") and Key Bank Albany, New York. It traces its roots back to Commercial Bank of Albany (1825). Society Corp. originated as Cleveland's Society for Savings in 1849, and had acquired Cleveland Central National Bank in 1986 and Ameritrust (formerly Cleveland Trust) prior to its merger with the former KeyCorp. KeyCorp is a publicly-traded stock on the New York Stock Exchange. It is listed as KEY.

KeyBank has approximately 19,000 employees and 2.2 million retail, small business, and corporate and investment clients. There are 950 Key branches located in 13 states and 1,447 ATMs. KeyCorp maintains business offices in 31 states. In April, 2007, Key was ranked 319 on Fortune 500. [2]

On September 6, 2006, KeyBank announced that it was selling its broker-dealer branch network McDonald Investments Inc. to UBS Financial Services Inc. [3]
