Khost wa Fereng district is the easternmost district of Baghlan province, Afghanistan in the Hindu Kush mountains. Its capital is Khost wa Fereng. The population of the district was estimated to be around 56,678 in 2004 of which ethnic Tajiks made up 70% and Hazaras 30% of the total population.[1]
