Korean family of scholar-painters. (1) Kim Che was the son of a politician, Kim Al-lo (1481-1537), who despite frequent banishment rose to high office. Kim Che's grandchildren, Kim Chip (1576-1625) and (2) Kim Sik, were influenced by him in their paintings of cows, oxen and water-buffalo.
