Review

Recorded live on March 26, 1984 in West Palm Beach, Florida, this show captures Pat Travers at the peak of his career. Backed by Jerry Riggs (guitar), Barry Dunaway (bass), and Pat Marchino (drums), he grinds out a string of high-energy rock, including "Hot Shot" and "Killer" off his then-current Polygram album, an extended jam of his signature tune, "Boom Boom (Out Go the Lights)," a cover of Albert King's "Born Under a Bad Sign," and "La La La Love You" from the soundtrack to the movie Valley Girl. The wattage is high and the tempos are ferocious, enough to make this one of the great live rock guitar showcase albums ever done. Not quite a live best-of or greatest hits album, but it will do. ~ Bruce Eder, All Music Guide
