Kiss FM Australia

Kiss FM is a Melbourne-based narrowcast[1] radio station for the dance music community. It broadcasts on 87.6, 87.8, 87.9 and 88.0 FM to Melbourne, broader Victoria state and Queensland via Orbit FM.

It is considered part of the FM 876 Network.

Origins

The station grew out of aspirant community licensee Kiss 90 fm, which lost out for a full-time license in 2001, and Sydney and Brisbane narrowcaster Rhythm FM.

Rhythm FM was bought by the owners of Kiss 90 and relaunched as Kiss FM in 2005 as a narrowcast radio service.

Transmitters

Kiss FM currently has active transmitters at Balwyn, Chadstone, Epping, Flemington, Frankston, Geelong, Kangaroo Ground, Laverton , Melbourne City, Mornington & Olinda and a relay service on Orbit FM's transmitters in Daylesford, Port Fairy, Wangaratta & Cairns.
