Kléber de Carvalho Corrêa

Music Encyclopedia: Francisco Correa de Arauxo

(b c 1576; d Segovia, c 31 Oct 1654). Spanish composer and theorist. He held appointments in Seville before becoming organist at the cathedrals of Jaén (1636-40) and Segovia (1640-53). His publication Libro de tientos ... Facultad organica (1626), which combines organ music with a theoretical treatise, shows his importance in establishing the Baroque style in Spain. The compositions are arranged in order of difficulty and illustrate points made in the treatise on tablature, fingering, key signatures and ornaments; rhythmic complexities abound in the later pieces. 62 of the 69 compositions in the Facultad organica are tientos.

(b Mascaraque, nr Toledo, c. 1510; d Toledo, 6 April 1566). Spanish painter. By 1527 his name was linked with Juan de Borgo?a, his master, and with the Toledo painters Pedro de Cisneros and Francisco de Comontes (d 1565). Correa's early work (1530-40) shows the direct influence of Borgo?a's models and compositions and a decorative quality reminiscent of Pedro Berruguete. The relationship between Correa's figures is nevertheless distinct from the balanced schemes used by Borgo?a. Paintings of this period include the altarpieces (one in Madrid, priv. col., see Mateo Gomez, 1983) for the Clarissan convent of Gri??n, near Madrid; the altarpiece (two panels in situ) in the parish church of Mora, Toledo province; the Guisando Nativity triptych (Madrid, Prado; Toledo, Mus. Santa Cruz); the altarpiece (1537-8; dismantled, in situ) in the church of Meco, near Madrid; and the Virgin with a Bird (Toledo, Colegio Doncellas).

Club career

Kléber began his career in Corinthians. He was a regular team when Corinthians won Brazilian Championship twice on 1998–1999 campaign, FIFA Club World Championship in 2000, São Paulo State Championship in 2001 and Brazil Cup.

In 2003, he moved to Hannover, but he failed to establish himself on the German club and went on loan to the Swiss Basel. Kléber became a regular at the Swiss club, who exercised its purchase option in the 2004–05 summer window.

He then joined Santos on a one-year loan in 2005.

In 2006, Kléber was a part of the team that won São Paulo State Championship and, after Santos definitely purchased his contract, finished fourth in the Brazilian League. Santos won the state title once again in 2007, with Kléber delivering the cross to the winning 2–0 goal against São Caetano.

On 26 January 2009, the 28-year-old left wingback has signed a three year deal with Internacional.[1]

International career

Kléber made his debut for Brazil on 31 January 2002 in a friendly match against Bolivia. A year later, he was included in Brazil team for 2003 FIFA Confederations Cup. He appeared in all three matches, as Brazil was eliminated in the group stage. After missing out from the national team for more than four years, he was recalled to the team on March 2007 and subsequently earned a place in Brazil's team for Copa América 2007, which Brazil went on to win. He scored his first international goal on 12 September 2007 in a friendly match against Mexico. On May 2009, he was selected in Brazil squad for the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup in South Africa.[2]
