KQED operates several publicly financed broadcasting outlets serving audiences in the San Francisco Bay area. Its KQED Public Television 9 broadcast channel reaches more than 1.5 million households; the company also has a number of digital cable channels offering niche programming focused on art, history, and children's programming. KQED also operates four public radio channels. In addition to broadcasting, the company distributes content online and produces educational workshops through KQED Education Network.
