KQED operates several publicly financed broadcasting outlets serving audiences in the San Francisco Bay area. Its KQED Public Television 9 broadcast channel reaches more than 1.5 million households; the company also has a number of digital cable channels offering niche programming focused on art, history, and children's programming.
