Kroll Factual Data (KFD) resells credit data and other information, delivering it primarily to mortgage lenders via Web-based reports. KFD also performs credit and background screening for lenders, employers, leasing agents, and landlords. Business information services offered include credit verification, criminal history checks, and personal credit history of company executives. KFD is a subsidiary of risk consulting group Kroll, itself a subsidiary of Marsh & McLennan Companies. Marsh & McLennan is seeking a buyer for KFD, one of its underperforming units.
