Kulim is a major town and district in Kedah, Malaysia. It is the main industrial area in Kedah and the site of Intel Corporation regional factory and R&D center in Malaysia. It also houses lots of multinational companies in its very own Kulim hi-tech industrial park(second hi tech park in Malaysia). Kulim is connected to nearby Butterworth in Penang via Butterworth-Kulim Expressway (BKE).

The estimation of Kulim's population are around 150k as of year 2007.

The name of Kulim came from a the name of a tree. This particular tree is valued for its wood usage and during 1997, the value for Kulim tree per m³ was about RM270. The scientific name for Kulim tree is Scorodocarpus borneensis.
