(b Göteborg, 12 Dec 1887; d Stockholm, 15 Feb 1974). Swedish composer. He worked in the patent office (1912-68), though he had lessons with Hallén at the Stockholm Conservatory (1910-11) and studied in Germany. He was also a conductor and critic. His large output, in the Alfvén tradition, includes operas, ballets and nine symphonies (1911-56).
