Tomb KV4, located in Egypt's Valley of the Kings, was intended for the burial of Pharaoh Ramesses XI in the Twentieth Dynasty, although it is unclear whether or not it was ever actually used by him. Running back over 100 metres into the mountainside, KV4 has the distinction of being the last royal tomb cut in the Valley.
In later times it was used as a Coptic residence and stables, and Howard Carter used it as a storeroom and dining area during his excavation of KV62 in the 1920s. It was not fully excavated until John Romer's clearance in 1979.
