Kyocera International, the holding company for the North American operations of Japan's Kyocera Corporation, makes products ranging from semiconductor casings to knives and utensils. Having expanded through acquisitions beyond its origins in specialty ceramics, Kyocera International also makes LCD panels, thin-film devices, printers, industrial cutting tools, and solar energy systems. Its Kyocera Communications unit provides sales, marketing, and customer support for Kyocera and SANYO brand wireless phones in the US. Kyocera International's Kyocera Solar subsidiary is one of the world's largest producers of photovoltaic solar cells.
