Biography

Léon Barsacqu was a distinguished art director of French films for over 30 years. Barsacqu was born in Crimea, Russia. He studied at the Paris School of Decorative Arts before working as an assistant decorator on his first French film in 1931. Léon Barsacq (18 October 1906 – 23 December 1969) was a Russian production designer, art director and set decorator. He was nominated for an Academy Award in the category Best Art Direction for the film The Longest Day.[1]
