Created out of 1999 French banking reform, La Caisse Nationale des Caisses d'Epargne et de Prévoyance (CNCE) is a for-profit entity that serves as the central coordinating body of about 20 cooperatively owned (formerly state-owned) savings banks with more than 4,700 offices in France and French territories. In addition to retail and commercial banking, CNCE offers insurance and real estate services.
