Opened in 1935, the [La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club]View Website is a premiere private social club located on the shores of the exclusive La Jolla area of San Diego, California.

The first foundation for the club began in 1927, when the area was designated for a private yacht club. The land was purchased in 1935 by newspaperman, Frederick William Kellogg, who began developing the property into what it is today. As of 2007, the club is still owned by the Kellogg family.

The twenty acre Beach and Tennis Club stretches out along the Pacific coast and includes a private stretch of beach, a nine-hole pitch-and-putt golf course, an outdoor, heated swimming pool, championship tennis courts, a duck pond and beautiful landscaping.

In addition to being a private club, the Beach and Tennis Club is also open to the public via guest accommodations at the club or the neighboring La Jolla Shores Hotel(formerly the Sea Lodge Hotel). The La Jolla Shores Hotel offers oceanfront dining at The Shores Restaurant. Directly south of the Club is The Marine Room Restaurantone of San Diego's most well known fine dining restaurants.
