A lagometer is a display of network latency on an internet connection and of rendering by the client. Lagometers are commonly found in computer games or IRC where timing plays a large role. Quake and derived games commonly have them. The delay between a request and its arrival is the height of the column.

Other games, such as Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory only have Lagometers on specific mods. To access the Lagometer in JayMod servers, hit ESCAPE, JayMod, Display, and cycle through the section entitled "Lag-o-meter".

Accessing the Lagometer

In all Quake III based games, the Lagometer can be activated by bringing down the consol (tilde key ~) and typing in "/cg_lagometer 1". To deactivate it, simply type in "/cg_lagometer 0"
