Biography

A protege of Ace of Base producer Anders Bagge, Swedish dance-pop singer Laila was born in 1973; upon relocating to Gothenburg as a teen, she studied at the city's ballet academy, and after graduating in 1992 moved to Stockholm to begin teaching at a dance school. Three years later she met Bagge, and in late 1996 production began on her debut LP, with Hello Laila appearing in 1998. ~ Jason Ankeny, All Music Guide
