Lake Cowichan (pop. 2,948), is a town located on the east end of Cowichan Lake and, by highway, is 27km west of Duncan, British Columbia. Lake Cowichan is the hometown of a handful of famous people, such as Crystal Dalman, Dawn Coe-Jones, and Dan Boeckner.

Lake Cowichan is a sister city of Ōtaki (now part of Date city) in Hokkaidō, Japan.[1]
