Lamtuna
The Lamtuna are a Berber tribe from the region of Mauritania-Western Sahara-Morocco-Algeria. They claim descent from Himyar, one of the South Arabian eponyms.[citation needed] Genetic evidence suggests that beside their Berber origins they may be partially descended from Arab conquerors [citation needed]. The Almoravids, the founders of Marrakech in Morocco where they established their capital, originated from this tribe.[citation needed]
