Land Securities (LandSecs) knows all about location, location, and location -- the company's late founder (Lord Harold Samuel) is credited with coining the phrase. The real estate investment trust (REIT) is one of the largest property development companies in the UK. Much of its portfolio is in central and inner London, including around a million sq. meters of office space; the rest of its holdings are located throughout the UK. It has about 60 shopping centers and retail parks. In 2009 the company sold its Land Securities Trillium division, which provided property outsourcing services for large enterprises, to Telereal for some £750 million (more than $1 billion).
