Lanzenfest, the Feast of the Holy Lance, centred upon the instruments of the Passion of Our Lord, the spear or lance and the nails. Restricted to Germany, it was first celebrated in 1353. It is now only observed in certain localities. The Feast was celebrated on the Friday after the Easter Octave, i.e. on the second Friday after Easter Day.
