Laodice III
Laodice (in Greek Λαοδικη), wife of Antiochus III the Great, was a daughter of Mithridates II, king of Pontus, and of Laodice, daughter of Antiochus II. She was married to Antiochus III soon after his accession, about 222 BC, and proclaimed queen by him at Antioch before he set out on his expedition against Molon. The birth of her eldest son, Antiochus, took place during the absence of the king on that expedition.1 She was the mother of four other sons, and four daughters one of which was Cleopatra I of Egypt.
