Sergio Lara and Joe Reyes formed the instrumental band Lara & Reyes. The duo, founded by Lara in 1994, performed jazz-influenced Latin guitar instrumental pieces from 1994 until 2000. During this six-year period, they released six albums and earned a Latin Grammy nomination in 2001 for "Best Instrumental Pop Album" (for World Jazz).
