Review

Latin Lingo, Vol. 2: Hip-Hop from La Raza picks up where the first installment left off, chronicling a selection of Top Ten rap singles by the likes of Kid Frost, Candyman and Hi-C & Tony A, adding new cuts from Krazy Dee, Proper Dos and Browntown to the mix for good measure. Although the concept of collecting Latino hip-hop cuts is good, the execution on Latin Lingo is haphazard -- sure, there are plenty of good tracks, but there are nearly as many middling ones as well. The collection is produced well, and the curious will certainly learn something from the disc, but it could have been more than intriguing -- it could have been classic. ~ Leo Stanley, All Music Guide
