Ballet in one act with choreography by Balanchine, music by Rieti, and designs by de Chirico. Premiered 7 May 1929 by the Ballets Russes de Diaghilev in Monte Carlo, with Danilova, Dolin, Doubrovska, Lifar, and Balanchine. A young officer woos a beautiful woman at a masked ball.
