Le Champ-de-Mars

Champ-de-Mars, Le. Open space on the left bank of the Seine in Paris, now the site of the Eiffel Tower. Originally the parade ground of the École Militaire, it was the scene of fêtes révolutionnaires and subsequent great open-air occasions.
