Festin de l'araignée, Le (Eng. title The Spider's Banquet).Ballet pantomime in one act with choreography by Staats, libretto by G. de Voisins, music by Roussel, and design by Maxime Dethomas. Premiered 3 Apr. 1913 at Théâtre des Arts, Paris, with Sarah Djeli. It tells a cautionary tale about a spider and its prey. Later versions by Aveline (Opera, Paris, 1940), Howard (Sadler's Wells Ballet, 1944), and Bintley (Royal Ballet School, London, 1997).
