Le Reclus de Molliens

French Literature Companion: Le Reclus de Molliens

Reclus de Molliens, Le (first third of 13th c.). Probably identifiable as a certain Barthélemy de Saint-Fuscien, and author of two verse treatises. Both the Miserere and the Roman de Carité are calls to penitence, the former reviewing the estates and listing the sins inspired by the senses, the latter lamenting the disappearance of charity.

— Jane Taylor
