Sillon, Le. Review founded in 1894 by Paul Renaudin, which, in 1902, under Marc Sangnier, gave its name to the first French Christian Democrat movement; it attempted to unite students, workers, and the middle classes in progressive Catholic politics and had considerable attraction for Catholic intellectuals. Considered subversive, the movement and journal were dissolved in 1910 by order of Pius X.
