It's all a skin game at LecTec. The company formerly made (and now licenses) topical patches that deliver over-the-counter drugs through the skin. Its products include cooling, anti-itch, and pain relief patches, as well as acne treatments and wart removers. LecTec ceased manufacturing a few years ago, and is now licensing its intellectual property. The company currently licenses its technology to Novartis for that company's Triaminic Vapor Patch, a children's cough suppressant; the patch was recalled in 2006 after children who ate it got sick. LecTec is pursuing additional licensing agreements with Novartis, as well as seeking other licensing partners.
