Biography

British actor Lee Montague was most active on stage and television. He averaged about one film per year after his 1959 movie debut in The Savage Innocents. In the mid '70s, Montague began showing up on American-financed TV miniseries which required European location shooting. Lee Montague was seen in Franco Zeffirelli's expensive, all star TV production Jesus of Nazareth (1977) and in the harrowing multipart historical drama Holocaust (1978). ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Lee Montague (born 16 October 1927 in London) is an English actor noted for his roles on film and television.

Film credits include: Moulin Rouge, The Camp on Blood Island, The Savage Innocents, Billy Budd, The Secret of Blood Island, Deadlier Than the Male and The Legacy.

Television credits include: Danger Man, The Baron, The Troubleshooters, Department S, Dixon of Dock Green, The Sweeney, Space: 1999, Minder, The Chinese Detective, Bergerac, Bird of Prey, Dempsey and Makepeace, Casualty and Waking the Dead.

He also holds the distinction of being the first ever storyteller on the children's programme Jackanory in 1965.
