Legal (pronounced /lɨˈɡæl/) is a town in central Alberta, Canada. It is located 42 kilometers (26 mi) north of Edmonton on Highway 651, immediately east of Highway 2.

Legal was founded as a Francophone settlement and is now famous for its French-themed murals.

Legal was also where hockey star Kyle Chipchura went to school and played minor hockey.

There is also a small francophone elementary/junior school called École Citadelle (School Citadelle) which used to be an old convent, as well as larger English school.
