Legal Transfer

Transaction that requires documentation other than the standard stock or bond power to validate the transfer of a stock certificate from a seller to a buyer-for example, securities registered to a corporation or to a deceased person. It is the selling broker's responsibility to supply proper documentation to the buying broker in a legal transfer.
