Biography

The successful career of singer/guitarist Leonard González (born Leonardo González) began with La Mafia, a popular Houston-based outfit assembled with Oscar González in 1986. Their eponymous debut album was released that same year and followed by the top-selling Estas Tocando Fuego and triple-platinum Ahora y Siempre.

After his departure from La Mafia, singer Daniel Alvarez, drummer Pepe Delfin, bassist Adolfo Alonzo, accordionist Gerardo Gómez, and keyboardist Eric Rodríguez joined him to form a Tejano/Latin pop band called Los Magnificos, making their debut with the release of Cuenta Conmigo. ~ Drago Bonacich, All Music Guide
