Andelys, Les (lāzäNdəlē'), town (1993 est. pop. 8,580), in Eure dept., N France, Normandy, on the Seine. The twin communities of Grand-Andely and Petit-Andely form a commercial center, with a distillery, metalworks, glassworks, and silk and leather industries. On the border between Normandy proper and the Norman Vexin, it was of considerable strategic importance in the Middle Ages. The impressive Château Gaillard was built (1197) by Richard I of England.

Les Andelys is a commune in the Eure department in Haute-Normandie in northern France. It lies on the Seine, 20 miles (32 km) northeast of Évreux.
The commune is divided into two parts, Grand-Andely and Petit-Andely.
