Bousingots, Les. Group of writers on the margins of respectable society who in the early 1830s advocated artistic freedom in ways which challenged the values of the bourgeois monarchy. Whereas the Jeunes-France were an essentially literary avant-garde, the Bousingots were more willing to link their ideas about art with republicanism in politics.
