Review

Bonnie Pink recorded her third full album (and her first for her new label) in LA with Mitchell Froom producing; you can hear her interest in his work for Suzanne Vega in the arrangements deployed here. Froom indulges Bonnie in all sorts of '70s rock sounds, including the funk-meets-Zeppelin of "Call My Name" and the laid-back Don Henley-esque "Trust," which occasionally seems to rob Bonnie of her idiosyncracy. "Fish" is a great song, as is the single "Sleeping Child," a Latin-tinged, slinky number that one wishes the rest of album could match. Still, Bonnie Pink's voice is lovely throughout, clear and refreshing as the rain shower that closes the album. ~ Ted Mills, All Music Guide
