Laws against homosexuality
Homosexuality was decriminalized in 1790. Homosexuality is still legal according to the Penal Code of 2005.
The age of consent is equal at 16, regardless of sexual orientation and/or gender.[1]
Recognition of same-sex relationships
Since 2005, it has been possible for same-sex couples to register their partnership under the name "Stable Union of a Couple".
In 2009, there has been ongoing legal debate to legalize same-sex marriage - along with Albania, Luxembourg, Portugal, Iceland and Slovenia in other parts of Europe.
Adoption and family planning
Same-sex couples have the right to adopt children.
Discrimination protections
Anti-discrimination laws cover sexual orientation and thus, discriminating against homosexuals is illegal.
Blood donation issues
Men who have sex with men (MSM) are not allowed to donate blood, although it is against International Conventions.
