This is a Chinese name; the family name is Li.

Li Jinyu (Chinese: 李金羽pinyin: Lǐ Jīnyǔ; born July 6, 1977 in Shenyang, Liaoning, China) is a Chinese association football player who currently plays for Shandong Luneng in the Chinese Super League. He won the Golden Boot Award after scoring 26 goals in the 2006 Super League season.

One of the premier strikers in China, Li earned his reputation early when he was the star of the Chinese youth team that studied in Brazil. In 1999, he spent one season in France with AS Nancy. He is a regular on the Chinese national team. He also played in 1997 FIFA World Youth Championship.

However, according to footballasia.com, as of June 14, 2007, Li Jinyu was dropped from the Asian Cup 2007 squad. By only scoring five times in the Chinese Super League and three times in the AFC Champions League, the form appears not convincing enough to be included in the squad.

Li Jinyu scored his 110th league goal on September 20, 2008 in a league game vs Beijing Guo'an. Despite his good tradition in scoring, he has only scored twice in 2008 China super league.
