"Lies" is the second single from Born to Sing, the debut album from R&B/pop quartet En Vogue. Written and produced by Thomas McElroy and Denzil Foster, it became the group's second single to top the Billboard R&B singles chart. Peaking at number thirty-eight, it was also their second US Hot 100 top 40 hit.[2]

- Though principal lead vocals are performed by Dawn Robinson and Cindy Herron, "Lies" was the first En Vogue single to feature solos by all four members.
- The song features a rap by guest artist Debbie T. who is also from the Oakland, CA area.
- The song was recorded at Can Am Studios in 1989 and registered with U.S. Copyright Office on November 21, 1989 under the PAu001298956 registration number. The video version known as the Avant Garde Remix was recorded in the spring of 1990 with extra vocals and registered with U.S. Copyright Office under the SR0000121980 registration number.
